When a 12-year-old boy is killed during a drug raid, Debra calls all involved onto the carpet to explain the shooting. Lowe accuses Jessie of over-aggressiveness, leading to the accidental shooting. Debra discounts Jessie’s account citing her history of over-aggressiveness. She implores Jessie to walk the line, stating that it comes down to us against them.
Investigating the raid Alison confronts Yuri who has taken on the boy's case. Each question the other’s interest and motivation in the case. Alison offers herself as a media liaison in exchange for exclusive information but Yuri refuses. Alison digs into the drug raids and finds parallels with the Winecroft Corporation’s interests. Jessie meets with her long-time partner Trent – who is recovering from separate incident in which Jessie's over-aggressiveness is questioned. Trent brings to light the success of each raid, suggesting a possible political link to Debra and her crime-fighting agenda. Jessie throws fuel on her own fire when she assaults Lowe for throwing her under the bus for the boy's shooting and poisoning the waters about her ability within the department.
As Alison continues to investigate the drug raids, her past puts Bonnie in the cross-hairs with the Triad who is also keeping a close eye on the raids. Yuri verifies disturbing evidence Alison uncovered that links her Aunt Margaret and the Winecroft Corporation. Yuri warns Aunt Margaret that her interference in "Company" matters places her in danger.
As the next drug raid unfolds, Jessie defies orders to stay away, but in doing so, she serendipitously saves Alison from Meade when she shoots him after he takes Alison hostage. Alison's cellphone video of Meade planting evidence jeopardizes all the raids. Debra confronts Alison about what she saw during the raid and how her video will place a lot of people in danger including herself.
Yuri is able to stop Winecroft's redevelopment approval with the help of Debra's info she had subversively supplied. But, the case unveils a deeper corporate conspiracy. When push comes to shove, will the collaborative pretense the share challenge their personal and professional agendas.

A Hispanic single-mother to 13-year-old, Jordan, named after her brother who was killed as a bystander in a drive-by shooting, her career has stalled as Detective Sergeant of the SFPD. Her “chip-on-the-shoulder” over-aggressive tactics have resulted in tragic outcomes and her in-your-face frankness has teetered her career toward demotion or termination. The higher standard Jessie feels she must uphold and a festering secret regarding Jordan’s biological father fuels her self-destructive behavior.
